Intro:

Neil is a Group Director and joined T J Transport and the Group of companies 17 years ago as Transport Operator and was promoted to Transport Manager in 2007 and Director in 2011.

Prior to working for TJ Group, Neil worked within the leisure industry for five years. Working in supervisor and management positions.

Experience in the operations of large fleet, to service the construction and industrial markets. The diverse fleet includes Skip, Rol on Off Bulk Artic, Grabs and various sized tipper vehicles.

Put together contracts involving the blue-chip aggregate client base and has been the initial point of contact for development over the last 10 years.

Part of the team setting up and developing the growth within the West of England. Working to establish and now build the business in the Bristol region.

Responsible for developing and expanding the night work opportunities. Inclusive of developing working relationships with clients and maximising all opportunities.

Overseeing the subcontractor growth and usage within TJ Transport and identifying and developing strategy to expand.

Converse with current transport legalisation to allow transport of waste material from inert through to Hazardous.

Responsible for the selection, specification and purchasing of vehicles for the fleet including, the repair and maintenance agreements.

National Certificate of Competency qualified.

Responsible for all employment issues – trained in employment law.

Holds monthly meetings with the Fleet department – reviewing all legislation
and compliance requirements and maintaining good working practise.

Health & Safety:

Responsible for the coordination of Quality, Health and Safety policy and procedures.

Neil is part of the team that heads the groups H&S compliance and chairs the quarterly H&S meetings.

Reviews and develops as part of a team the ‘Engage’ cloud-based storage for all H&S documentation and its incorporation of all other relevant documents throughout the group.

Neil holds a NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety and regularly liaises with H&S consultants.

Relevant Qualifications:

  • Qualified to level 3 WAMITAB certificate of competence in inert waste landfills and Non-Hazardous Transfer of waste.
  • Transport National Certificate of Competence.
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • ILM Level 3 in First Line Management
  • Help to Grow Management Course 2021

OUTSIDE OF WORK:

Neil spends most of his free time with his family, all of which are keen and dedicated sportsmen and women. Swimming and rugby takes up much of the family’s time – either training, matches/galas or watching.

Holidays and down time together is especially important for Neil and his family, with the next trip always on the horizon.
